I want to join the club. How do I get started?

If you are relatively new to pickleball, you need to attend an orientation session.  See Instructions for orientation.  If  you are an experienced player, you must contact our evaluations director.  The evaluations director will evaluate you and assign you a skill level.  The process for an experienced player is called Level Placement.

When you are ready to join, check out our New Members Page to join.

I attended orientation or have gone through a level placement. Now what do I do?

Members must be a property owner or registered resident of either Tellico Village or Rarity Bay.  Members must also have a current Parks & Recreation membership or use guest passes from the Rec Department for each day that they play.  See Parks & Rec membership information and pricing.

After orientation or level placement, you should receive an email which tells you your assigned skill level.  You must create an account on Pickleball Den, then join the Tellico Village Pickleball Club and pay your $15 dues.

You can also attend one of our Ambassador play sessions (see schedule) where you can play with our Ambassadors or just ask questions.

I've been assigned a skill level and paid my club dues. What's next?

Once you’ve been assigned a skill level, joined and paid your dues, you can begin playing.  One good way to get started and meet other club members is to attend level open play for your skill level.  You can get the court schedule and information on understanding it on the court schedule page.  If you were assigned a 2.0 skill level, you can also get started with skills and drills instruction by contacting the 2.0 Skills & Drills coordinator.  Contact them for more information.

If you were assigned a skill level of 2.5 or higher, you can also sign up for skills and drills.  You can find instructions here.

I'm ready to show up for level play. What do I need to do when I arrive?

Find the courts designated for your skill level, and sign in.  Each set of courts has a mailbox with a sign-in sheet inside.  Just write down the time, your name, and skill level.

I'm new to level play. How do I save a place in line to play?

Each set of courts has a paddle rack.  Just put your paddle in the leftmost unoccupied slot and wait until someone calls for more players.  E.g., if someone calls for 2 players, and your paddle is in one of the two leftmost slots, you are ready to play!
